The :: Match Reports (By Popular Threat) ... Epic F.C vs The Awesome / Epic F.C Vs the weirdnumberfag thing

Ok well due to popular demand ... and threats ... and violent stabbings ... and more threats ... I bring you (for the second time in a row) Two match reports combined together :O :D

Epic F.C vs The Awesome -

The game started well for Epic F.C, with a good blend of offensive and defensive play stopping The Awesome from having any major breakthrough whilst also providing Epic F.C with a variety of opportunities int he opening minutes. As The Awesome began to push forward, a gap was left open, and it was Blaise Walker who stood tall and thundered forward, pushing the ball into the back of the net.

With he score at 1 - 0 , Epic F.C continued to push forward, but a quick reply from the Awesome came, and soon the game was on level terms ... or so we all thought ... but the scoring system was malfunctioning ... and apparently a multitude of goals were scored and then decidedly un-scored ... with the scoreboard readings ranging from 2 - 0 all the way to 12 - 5.

Officially it was 1 - 1 ... and that's how it stayed at the half time break.

The second half was far more exciting for The Awesome, who, after a few minutes of tough resistance managed to break through the Epic F.C defense an take the lead. From there, as Epic F.C tired, The Awesome took control, scoring another 2 in quick succession.

This was turning into a heated game, as we were all tired from the swimming carnival. With Epic F.C desperate to find a breakthrough, sloppy mistakes crept in from both teams. Skill errors aside, The Awesome still managed to put another into the back of the net, before goalkeeper Joe Blay came out (of goals) for the final three minutes.

In that time, The Awesome managed to score again, with substitute goalkeeper Blaise walker also making two fine saves beforehand.

The only highlight of the final minute was Joseph Blay winning the ball and setting up Daniel Mcgee, who unfortunately shot wide from the top of the D.

Final Score: 6 - 1

Epic F.C vs Werinnumberthingypeople -

Epic F.C started optimistically, with a strong attacking purpose in mind.
A few breaks down the flanks led to a few peppered shots, but not much else. In fact, it was the more defensive team that took the lead. Poor man-marking led to a simple goal for the opposition, and Epic F.C found themselves in a familiar position.
A goal down, Epic F.C continued to look for an opener, but it was another defensive lapse that led to their downfall. This time, a direct attack down the wing was not dealt with, and the resultant shot blasted into the bottom corner.

At 2 - 0 down, and with 7 minutes to go, Epic F.C changed it up a bit, with Joseph Blay coming out (of goals). This led to an offensive change, with Emerson Brophy moving forward.
The change prove effective, and an awesomesupersweet volley led to Epic F.C' opener.

Half time, 2 - 1.

As the second half started, Epic F.C looked more confident, but failed to make an impact.
Things looked grim, but a great attacking play allowed Jordan Edwards to shoot and score a great goal and bring the scores level.
After a few more minutes, Epic F.C had the chance to take the lead, with a penalty being awarded. Blaise Walker stepped up to shoot, but his shot ricoched off the knee of the goalkeeper, and the scores stayed level.

This proved to be a turning point in the game, with the opposition scoring twice to seal their victory.

Final Score: 4 - 2

Epic F.C Vs (Scratch Match Team) and Velocity (Not at the same time, but a week apart ...)

Well the scratch match doesn't really need a report because 'Officially' we won 3-0. I can't remember who scored the goals and apparently they don't count. BUT I SCORED 2!.
Officially result 3 - 0.
Joe scored 2 FAKEGOALS.
This week however, Epic F.C played against a REAL team who, if scored against, would allow us to register REAL GOALS.
In order to assist in the game, due to many injury worries, Daniel McGee and Hannah were needed to fill the gaps. Both Hannah and Daniel played excellent games and were a great help to the team.

Epic F.C started strongly in the first half, with many attacking plays and long balls being used. This culminated in a very early goal to Blaise Walker. The tall utility player managed to tackle the ball off the only other player the opposition half, before blasting the ball into the back of the net. A very loud scream of awesomeness followed.

With the score at 1 - 0, Epic F.C searched for a second, leaving the defence in trouble at some points, however goalkeeper Joe Blay was able to deal with the several shots, and managed to pull out a "ninjariffic mid-air diving save" (yes I'm very VERY happy with that save) to keep his team in the lead.

As half time approached, Epic F.C focused more on defence for the final few minutes and the first half ended 1 - 0 in Epic F.C's favour.

The second half began, and Joe Blay was on the scene and eager to register some REAL goals. Helping him up front was Daniel McGee and the pair forged a very effective attacking partnership.

Just 1 minute into the second half, Joe Blay scored his first REAL goal of the season. A long run from defence saw the usual-goalkeeper into a shooting position, a quick feint put the only defender out of the equation and allowed for a powerful drive to careen into the bottom corner.
Epic F.C could taste victory.

As the team pushed for another goal, Velocity F.C became more determined to get on the score sheet. Their perseverance payed off and an unfortunate Blaise Walker conceded his first goal for the season due to a powerful close range shot.
At 2 - 1 things looked tight. Throwout after throwout was cut off by both teams and the ball didn't seem to get into a good position for either team.
Then came the throwout from Blaise that changed the game.

Running into the opposition half, Joe Blay called for the ball. As the goalkeeper threw it, it bounced behind Joe, who promptly used the back of his heel to flick it over his head and volley it first time into the bottom right-hand corner.

As the game progressed into the final 8 minutes, Velocity became ENRAGED and began to fight far harder to score. 2 Goals in quick succession put the game back on level terms and set up a very exciting final 3 minutes.

A moment of brilliance from Daniel McGee led him to a great shooting position after bursting past two opposition players. His resultant shot blasted past the goalkeeper and put Epic F.C back into the lead at 4- 3.
With just 2 minutes to go, Joe Blay was put back in goals and Epic F.C played the rest of the match out defensively.

A brilliant victory for Epic F.C.
