Ok well due to popular demand ... and threats ... and violent stabbings ... and more threats ... I bring you (for the second time in a row) Two match reports combined together :O :D
Epic F.C vs The Awesome -
The game started well for Epic F.C, with a good blend of offensive and defensive play stopping The Awesome from having any major breakthrough whilst also providing Epic F.C with a variety of opportunities int he opening minutes. As The Awesome began to push forward, a gap was left open, and it was Blaise Walker who stood tall and thundered forward, pushing the ball into the back of the net.
With he score at 1 - 0 , Epic F.C continued to push forward, but a quick reply from the Awesome came, and soon the game was on level terms ... or so we all thought ... but the scoring system was malfunctioning ... and apparently a multitude of goals were scored and then decidedly un-scored ... with the scoreboard readings ranging from 2 - 0 all the way to 12 - 5.
Officially it was 1 - 1 ... and that's how it stayed at the half time break.
The second half was far more exciting for The Awesome, who, after a few minutes of tough resistance managed to break through the Epic F.C defense an take the lead. From there, as Epic F.C tired, The Awesome took control, scoring another 2 in quick succession.
This was turning into a heated game, as we were all tired from the swimming carnival. With Epic F.C desperate to find a breakthrough, sloppy mistakes crept in from both teams. Skill errors aside, The Awesome still managed to put another into the back of the net, before goalkeeper Joe Blay came out (of goals) for the final three minutes.
In that time, The Awesome managed to score again, with substitute goalkeeper Blaise walker also making two fine saves beforehand.
The only highlight of the final minute was Joseph Blay winning the ball and setting up Daniel Mcgee, who unfortunately shot wide from the top of the D.
Final Score: 6 - 1
Epic F.C vs Werinnumberthingypeople -
Epic F.C started optimistically, with a strong attacking purpose in mind.
A few breaks down the flanks led to a few peppered shots, but not much else. In fact, it was the more defensive team that took the lead. Poor man-marking led to a simple goal for the opposition, and Epic F.C found themselves in a familiar position.
A goal down, Epic F.C continued to look for an opener, but it was another defensive lapse that led to their downfall. This time, a direct attack down the wing was not dealt with, and the resultant shot blasted into the bottom corner.
At 2 - 0 down, and with 7 minutes to go, Epic F.C changed it up a bit, with Joseph Blay coming out (of goals). This led to an offensive change, with Emerson Brophy moving forward.
The change prove effective, and an awesomesupersweet volley led to Epic F.C' opener.
Half time, 2 - 1.
As the second half started, Epic F.C looked more confident, but failed to make an impact.
Things looked grim, but a great attacking play allowed Jordan Edwards to shoot and score a great goal and bring the scores level.
After a few more minutes, Epic F.C had the chance to take the lead, with a penalty being awarded. Blaise Walker stepped up to shoot, but his shot ricoched off the knee of the goalkeeper, and the scores stayed level.
This proved to be a turning point in the game, with the opposition scoring twice to seal their victory.
Final Score: 4 - 2
